Silent Space is a horror metroidvania that tells the story of a space explorer escaping the now-infested ship in a remote colony in space as the sole survivor. This demonstration holds 4 main characters and audio designs on each voice actor’s lines. I directed, developed, and implemented the entire story of this project.

N3-VR – LITTLE DRONES

N3-VR (pronounced “Never”) is a first-person puzzle game. Its protagonist, Little Drone, is a robot whose task is to repair a seemingly derelict frigate called Pan’s Flight to ensure that it can reach its final destination. All sound design and dialogue has been produced, designed, and programmed by me. My team of over 20 people has been working remotely on this project.

Hey there, I’m Wayne Messam II (WMII). I work as a Technical Sound Designer specializing in Sci-Fi Sound Design and Audio Programming System Creation. Thanks for listening to my Sound Design Reel!

I am currently producing audio for my video game studio Neptune’s Cloud and my teams of indie game development professionals under the name Little Drones and The Infected. I recently finished a contract working with Formosa Interactive and Moon Game Studios. I led communications across the two teams in a AAA environment, developing and implementing systems in Wwise and C# as an Associate Technical Sound Designer.

In my work, I greatly emphasize developing unique audio experiences through dynamic audio system design and implementation. Additionally, Neptune’s Cloud provides live events for game audio professionals such as the Game Audio Jam which gives composers and sound designers a weekend challenge to design game audio for their portfolios. I host to enhance the skill level of the industry by providing quality material selections and feedback.

In the fall of 2020, I graduated from Florida Atlantic University earning my BA in Musiwith a concentration in Commercial Music Technology after being a part of the 2020 Game Sound Con Scholar’s Program. Outside of learning audio engineering and production techniques at my internship with Hoot Wisdom Recordings (record label), I utilized many online education sources both in and out of college in order to develop my craft for sound design, composition, and programming in C#.

Because my university did not provide courses for game audio specifically, I took it upon myself to bring game audio to my alma mater. I ended my collegiate career leaving behind a research project about Game Audio Experimentation through demo reels in the video game industry that will propel any students after me who are interested in a career in game audio. Today, I successfully founded FAU’s Game Development Club as an alumnus to do my part in making sure that game development continues to grow as a practice on the East Coast of the US.
